Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, why, and how to control it.

Last updated: June 8, 2026

Submio (“Submio,” “we,” “us”) is a candidate submission portal operated by RemoteBridge. This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use, what they do, and the choices you have. Plain language, no fluff.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites you visit. They let a site remember things between page loads or visits — for example, that you are signed in. We use a small number of them, documented below.

2. The cookies Submio sets

2.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies make Submio work at the most basic level. Without them you cannot sign in or use the product. Refusing them means the site cannot function.

  • Authentication session — set by our auth provider (Supabase) when you sign in. Stores your session token so we know who you are between page loads. Expires when you sign out or after inactivity.
  • CSRF protection — a short-lived token that prevents a malicious site from posting forms to Submio on your behalf.

2.2 Functional

These cookies remember preferences that improve the experience but are not strictly required.

  • Theme preference — remembers whether you have chosen light or dark mode so the site loads in the correct theme on return visits.
  • Sidebar collapsed state — remembers whether you have collapsed the app sidebar so it stays collapsed across sessions.

2.3 Analytics

We use a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand which pages and features get used so we know where to invest engineering time. The analytics provider does not see your personal data and cookies it sets are aggregated, not per-user.

If we enable a third-party analytics tool that does set per-user cookies, this policy will be updated and you will be given a clear consent choice before any analytics cookies are loaded.

2.4 What we do not set

We do not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not sell visitor data to third parties. If that ever changes, this section gets updated and you get explicit notice.

3. The cookies on the hiring-manager review page

The public review page at /r/[token] does not require an account and sets the minimum cookies needed for the page to render. Specifically: a CSRF token (so the HM's actions submit safely) and the theme cookie. No analytics or tracking cookies are set on review pages — the HM's privacy is part of the product design.

4. Controlling cookies

4.1 Browser controls

Every major browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies on a per-site basis. The links below go to the official help pages:

Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in. Blocking functional cookies will mean the site forgets your theme and sidebar preferences.

4.2 Do Not Track

We honour the Do Not Track signal where it is sent. Because we do not set per-user analytics or advertising cookies today, the practical effect is the same with or without DNT enabled.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will notify users via email and update the “Last updated” date at the top.
